Uganda Manufacturers Associations (UMA) hosts its 28th International Trade Fair

The international trade fair is taking place at Lugogo, Kampala form 3 rd
Oct up to the 10 th Oct, 2022.
This years’ theme “Business recovery by harnessing local sourcing
and deepening value chain integration “and has attracted both local
and international manufacturers, traders and distributors from various
sectors.
In the wake of closed borders and the covid-19 pandemic, this
highlighted need for import substitution for economies like Uganda
heavily rely on importation.
The objectives of the trade fair are to promote locally manufactured
goods, provide a platform for brand exposure, promotion of investment
in Uganda, facilitate business to business linkages, and provide product
launch opportunities and bench marking opportunities.
The trade fair provides an opportunity for exhibitors to showcase their
products that are locally made. Women traders are participating in this
trade fair as this a platform to grow their market share and ink
partnerships with both local and international participants from UAE,
Kenya, Malaysia, Turkey, Rwanda, Burundi, and Tanzania among
others.
The official opening of the trade fair will take place on Wednesday 5 th
Oct, 2022 starting and this will be graced by the Secretary General of
AfCFTA, H.E Wamkele Mene.
H.E, The president of Uganda will grace the closing ceremony alongside
3 heads of state including The Kenyan president William Ruto on Oct
10 th , 2022.
